Independent Arts is a small, unique registered charity, established in 1987. We provide a range of therapeutic creative arts activities and projects for disadvantaged people living on the Isle of Wight – particularly those with learning difficulties, disabilities, and the elderly.
Our activities are varied and can be delivered in a variety of settings. We deliver creative work in both residential settings and in the community. We are always striving to identify new ways to reach people, through engagement in the arts and creative activity.
Independent Arts is always looking for potential partnerships, and is keen to make links with other organisations who share a similar ethos to us. We are keen to develop new project ideas that reach people using the arts as a mechanism, and develop people’s wellbeing, quality of life and transferable skills.
Our activities are designed to improve confidence, self-esteem and motivation, and give people a chance to have fun and socialise.
