Independent Arts welcomes younger volunteers to help support our projects. Taking up a volunteer role can help build confidence and new skills as well as gaining experience in the world of work as well as meeting new people. Volunteering with Independent Arts also means that you will be making a huge difference to the lives of people on the Isle of Wight.
"Volunteering with Independent Arts has really changed my life. Through visiting people who are in need of some company I have become more confident in myself and my music. I feel by playing music you can see people light up which is a great feeling for anyone to experience."
Greg – one of our Young Volunteers
“When I first started volunteering was very shy and nervous and kept to myself. As the weeks passed my confidence has grown so much. I have gained a lot of communication skills from being involved with this project, which I really wanted to improve.”
Jodie, Young Volunteer
We offer volunteering opportunities to those over the age of 14, however some volunteer roles may not be suitable for those under the age of 18.
Training and support is offered in all our volunteer roles. We expect our volunteers to be reliable and to be representatives of Independent Arts. Volunteers should be committed to attending sessions regularly.
