Older Voices

There are Older Voices Circles all over the Isle of Wight and we are looking for people aged 50+ to be part of this new concept which will enable our voices to be heard. We want to see improvements, and we have the knowledge and experience to make it happen.want to be heard – about any subject that is concerning you – Older Voices will give you the opportunity to have a say, and your opinion will be heard, discussed and taken forward. We meet monthly and include an informal social gathering, occasional interesting speakers, and share tea, cakes and good company.

The Circles which currently meet monthly are:

East Cowes – Mike Lloyd (Chair)

Newport – Helen Osborne (Chair)

Pan & Barton – Helen Osborne (Chair)

The Bays (Sandown & Shanklin) – John Phillips (Chair)

The Circles clearly identify local problems and issues which are taken up for consultation to the Older Voices Forum who can then take it to the People Matter IW Steering Group, who may be able to take it to a relevant board such as the Health and Wellbeing Board for the Isle of Wight.

We would love you to join us, either by attending an existing circle or setting up a new circle.

For more information please contact the Older Voices Chair, Helen Osborne.
