‘Do Something Different’ film premiere

The Sandown & Lake Youth Forum, supported by Community Action Isle of Wight, were challenged to make a place-changing piece of art and select a professional artist to help them make it. They decided to make a film about the experience of living in the Bay area as a young person, and they chose Bruce Webb to help them do it.

Work began on the film in October 2022 and the young people have been involved in all aspects: from planning content and conducting interviews to filming and sound recording. They want their film to make a difference; to start conversations that end in the Bay becoming a better place for young people, working towards the goal of more sustainable cities and communities for the Isle of Wight Biosphere.

The film has been made as part of Artswork’s Supporting Young Minds investment programme, delivered on the Isle of Wight through The Island Collection and managed by Independent Arts.
