Vectis Fairway Lodge donates £1,000 to support Independent Arts’ creative health work

Independent Arts, the Isle of Wight’s creative health charity, is delighted to announce a £1,000 donation from Vectis Fairway Lodge.

The donation was presented at the charity’s East Cowes Singabout group by Robin Spencer, Immediate Past Master of Vectis Fairway Lodge, who chose Independent Arts as his supported charity over the past 12 months. The funds were raised through a series of events organised by Lodge members.

Matt Hitt, Fundraising Manager at Independent Arts, said:

“We are deeply grateful to Robin Spencer and everyone at Vectis Fairway Lodge for their support. Contributions like this help us continue delivering creative programmes that make a real difference to people’s health and wellbeing across the Island.”

The donation will support Independent Arts’ ongoing programme of workshops and community projects, which use creativity to improve mental and physical wellbeing, reduce isolation, and help people live healthier, more connected lives.

One such programme is Singabout, a series of weekly singing groups held across the Island, including in Cowes, East Cowes, Freshwater, Lake, Newport and Ryde. Open to all, Singabout offers a welcoming space to come together through song – supporting breathing, memory, confidence and overall wellbeing, while having fun in a relaxed, social setting.

Independent Arts extends its sincere thanks to everyone involved in the fundraising efforts. This generous donation will help ensure that creative health support remains accessible to those who need it most.
